The Mission of
Augustine United Church
is to worship God,
care for each other,
deepen our faith
in an inclusive,
Christian Community.
We are a people who have found an approach to faith through the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, who celebrate participation in Christ in the world, and who seek to express the Spirit of Christ everywhere.
We consider ourselves to be a progressive Christian Community, acknowledging the validity of other faith expressions, while seeking to mine the depths of our own tradition and experience.
We are very diverse. We accommodate many different notions about what it means to be Christian and what it means to be faithful. Representing many religious and social backgrounds, many of us are people who lived for a time in a kind of self-imposed exile from the church, based upon the expectations earlier exposures left with us. For some of us, at least, coming to Augustine has had the impact of coming home to a place of "sanctuary" we'd ceased to believe could exist.

As part of the United Church of Canada, we aspire, with varying levels of understanding and commitment, to the New Creed, printed in all our hymnals.
